01 · The Object

Slender brass rods drop from a single canopy, crossed by horizontal members each tipped with a hand-blown glass diffuser. Set into a stairwell void, it reads as a shifting vertical composition from every landing.

Overall 2700 mm total drop

Three horizontal members and four pendant drops from a single ceiling canopy. Total drop 2700 mm from ceiling to the lowest glass. Drop, member spacing and orientation are set to suit the void.

Materials Blackened brass · blown glass

Machined brass rods and horizontal members, hand-finished in blackened brass, each terminating in a hand-blown glass diffuser. Dimmable warm white LED. As the glass is blown by hand, subtle variation between diffusers is intentional.

Preliminary configuration for the stairwell void, prepared for estimate. Final proportions will be confirmed once the void dimensions (ceiling height, width, depth and power location) are known.
